Abia born popular artist, Ruffcoin Nwaba has prayed for the failure of Godfatherism in the forthcoming general election in the state.
The Eriwa crooner who had attributed the bad governance in Abia to godfatherism – made the comment in a congratulatory message to Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Osun State governor-elect.
Recall that Senator Adeleke, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won the governorship election of Osun State, held on Saturday, 16th of July, 2022.
Adeleke beat Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, with 402,979 votes to 375,077 votes.
“May The Godfather’s fail in Abia like they failed in Osun,” Ruffcoin wrote in a congratulatory message.
He, however, congratulated the people of Osun for voting and protecting their votes, calling on Abians to learn something from the concluded election.
“Congrats to the people of Osun who made sure they voted and protected their votes, May we in Abia learn something from them. Enough is Enough, new music soon.”
AbaCityBlog reports that Ruffcoin Nwaba had on December 31, 2021 – called for prayers for Abia State to be set free from captivity of backwardness, godfatherism and underdevelopment.
The artist who attributed bad governance in Abia to godfatherism, urged the general public and citizens of Abia to pray for the State, noting that since her creation, Abia has been experiencing bad governance.
“Today is 31st the last day of 2021, I just want to appeal to everyone as you’re saying a prayer today, crossover prayers, I want you to put Abia State in your prayers.
“We need redemption, Abia State needs to be set free from captivity, from backwardness, from underdevelopment, godfatherism, you name it, there’s a whole lot wrong with Abia State.
“It’s been 20 something years of bad governance and you know we can’t keep going forward like this, so say a prayer for Abia today where ever you are especially if you are from Abia State, but if you are not from Abia, please we still need those prayers.
“Any where you are in the world, let’s say a prayer for Abia today,” Ruffcoin Nwaba said.
