A coalition of youth groups in the 19 Northern States, have called on Nigerians to pray for the electoral victory of the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
The group under the aegis of Arewa Summit International urged citizens all over the world to pray for the peace and unity of the nation, noting that only “a united and peaceful Nigeria can attain developmental advancement and progress”.
According to a statement signed by its Director General, Dr. Bashir Lamido, Tuesday in Yola, urged Nigerians to commit the former Abia state governor into God’s hands as He prepares him for a greater task.
He said, “It is the time for Nigerians to unite and seek the face of God ahead of 2023 general elections. We must seek His face to help the nation produce a patriotic Nigerian like Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
“As for Arewa Summit International, we shall embark on a one month fasting and prayer for the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.”
He predicted that the 2023 general elections will be decisive and the nation must pray for visionary leaders like Senator Kalu to remain focused.
The group added that Kalu has all it takes to unite the nation and make it economically viable to compete with others.
According to Lamido, persecution, temptation and blackmail lie ahead for Kalu, hence Nigerians must rally around him.
While calling on all Nigerians to continue to support the former Abia state governor, the group urged Kalu not to be intimidated but to remain steadfast with his excellent performance as the Senator representing Abia North senatorial district.
“We are aware that some are forces trying to harass, intimidate and blackmail him. These people are only jealous and intimidated by Kalu’s pedigree and national appeal. We urge him not to be distracted because God Almighty won’t disappoint him,” the group said.
