A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Iroha Awa, has said that Kalu Idika Okwara is the best candidate in the People’s Democratic Party for the 2023 governorship election in Abia state.
Awa, who is also the Deputy Director General of Abia Good Governance Initiative, made the remarks on Tuesday in a chat with journalists in Umuahia.
He said, “If you look at those with governorship ambition in 2023 under the PDP, you’ll agree with me that Chief Kalu Idika Okwara is the best for our great party.
“With due respect to others, what Abians are looking for is a bit if fresh air. Someone who hasn’t been part of the system. A technocrat with a sound background. You can see that some people are already murmuring seeing those who has been in power for long declaring to be governor.
“PDP should do their homework thoroughly by fielding someone Abians would be comfortable with. I think that person is Chief Kalu Idika Okwara. He is very articulate, sound and vibrant. He has the capacity to lead Abia.
“Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has done well as the leader of the party and we proud of him. We are also proud of other leaders and members of the party in the state. I sincerely believe that PDP would retain Abia in 2023 with the right candidate,” he said.
