A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Prof. Kalu Kalu Diogu has accused the Abia State governorship candidate of the party, Chief Ikechi Emenike of destroying the party in Abia State.
Diogu in a social media post on Friday evening alleged that Emenike’s ego chased top chieftains including governorship aspirants out of the party.
He said, “The bottom line is that Ikechi Emenike and his sponsors have succeeded in destroying the chances of APC in the 2023 Abia governorship elections, that we, Abia North APC foundationally nurtured from 2019, to the point that the party’s chances cannot be remedied even if Uche Ogah wins in the courts.
“While I commend Dr. Uche Ogah for his decision and tenacity to stay and seek redress through the courts, please tell me what is left of our beloved Abia APC now. Because of Ikechi ‘s quadrennial ego, Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu has left with his supporters to APP; Dr. Alex Otti has left with his supporters to LP; Dr. Ukpai Iroh Ukpai has left with his supporters to NNPP and Mazi Chibuike Jonas has left with his supporters to ADP.
“Interestingly, all these former members of the APC family are waxing strong in their new parties while Ikechi Emenike sits in his father’s house in Ohuhu waiting to be crowned governor of Abia state in 2023 by his sponsors. As a known Nigerian comedians would say “no be juju be that!!!”
“By the way, did Ikechi Emenike resign from his appointment as Chairman of the Governing Council of UNN before running for governor as required by the new electoral act or is this another assumed impunity of his sponsors,” he queried.
