Shehu Sani, the incumbent senator for Kaduna Central senatorial district of Kaduna State at the National Assembly, has questioned the action of NCDC over trial of Nigerian musician Nairamarley.
Nairamarley who was being tried for violation of the COVID-19 protocols, was fined N50,000 each in four count charges which totalled N200,000.
The senator while reacting to the verdict, argued that the NCDC and PTF have lost the moral right to insist on the closure of worship centres, schools and sports as long as they choose to remain silent over the rally which violated same protocols that convicted Naira Marley.
Sani made the Statement in his recent tweets.
He wrote:
‘Where is Justice if Naira Marley can be arrested, tried and fined for violating the #COVID?19 protocols while the Edo Political Campaigns rallies goes unchallenged by the law,by the @NCDCgov and by the PTF?
The @NCDCgov d the PTF on #COVID19 loses the moral right to insist on d closure of Worshiping Centres,Schools & sports as long as they choose to remain silent on d political campaign rally in Benin which openly violated all d preventive protocols that convicted Naira Marley.”
