Columnist, Professor Farooq Kperogi has alleged that the National Leader of the APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu was behind the declaration of the Southwest security outfit codenamed “Operation Amotekun” as illegal by the Federal Government.
It should be recalled that the Secretary General of the Federation, SGF, has declared the operation as illegal, noting that those sponsoring the operation has an ulterior motives.
The decision of the SGF has also been backed by that Miyehtti Allah group. However, the governors from the Southwest has insisted that they must carry on with the operation. They cited that the operation is to protect lives and properties in the region.
But many have wondered why Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor and alleged one of the king makers in the region has kept quite over the issue.
According to a post made by Mr. Kperogi, he alleged that Tinubu was in the Villa in Abuja the day SGF declared the operation as illegal.
Kperogi was reacting to the reports that some Policemen disrupted protesters in Lagos who were gathering to protest in solidarity with the decision of that Southwest governors on Amotekun.
Kperogi in his post, shared on twitter said people should stop wondering why Tinubu kept mute in the matter.
He wrote…
“Days b4 Amotekun was declared “illegal,” Tinubu was in d Villa. His stooge in Lagos didn’t attend d official launch of d outfit. Today, Lagos became d only SW state where an Amotekun solidarity rally was disrupted by d police. Why are pple asking Tinubu’s to speak on Amotekun?
“He has already spoken. Some silences– and actions– speak louder than words. Tinubu is more in dread of offending the cabal and missing out on his illusory 2023 presidency than he is of the wrath of his own people.
