If you are a Congolese citizen and planning on traveling to another country, you will need a Congolese passport.
A passport is a document issued by a national government for international travel and it certifies the identity and nationality of the holder.
There are different types of passports, with different application requirements, fees, and processes.
You must have a Congolese identity document to apply for a Congolese Passport, or if you are a child, a birth certificate.
If you are traveling on official government business, you may apply for an official passport. Diplomats get a diplomatic passport.

How to Apply for a Congolese Passport Application Form Online
You can apply for a Congolese passport online. The application process is simple and easy to use with online application guidelines.
Applicants are required to visit the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo website and fill out the form.
General information about Congolese passports
The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo informs you that it will resume its passport services from Monday, June 21st, 2021, on a part-time basis. The conditions for the application of new Congolese passports are as follows:
Passport applications will be done STRICTLY by appointment ONLY (Walk-ins will not be accepted under ANY circumstances).
- Passport appointments are to be scheduled via the Embassy website using the scheduling calendar (www.ambardcusa.org) click on “Consular Services” and then click on the blue box that says “Book An Appointment”.
- Passport applications will be done on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10AM to 3PM (except public holidays).
Applicants must be sure that their application forms are completed and their required documents are in order PRIOR to arriving for their appointment. The application form can be found on the Embassy website (www.ambardcusa.org) under Consular Services click on Passport & Visa/Tenant-lieu. - Required documents:
1) Completed application form,
2) Copy of current/expired Congolese passport (BIO page only) **,
3) Copy of Green card, Employment Authorization, Work Permit or I-20 for students,
4) Two recent passport photos,
5) Payment of $100 by money order ONLY, 6) A pre-paid return mailing envelope with stamps and tracking number to mail the passport to you once it is ready (FedEx or USPS). **If your passport is lost, please provide a police report. For refugee & asylum, please bring your I-94 & permit of transportation letter.
All applicants are required to adhere to COVID-19 safety regulations by wearing a face mask at all times and maintaining a social distance of 6 feet for the safety of the applicants and the embassy staff.
