Abia 2019: Another Political Party Congratulates Ikpeazu over his victory

Following his resounding victory at the March 9 Governorship election in Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has continued to receive congratulatory messages from different segments of the state.

The latest is coming from members of the Labour Party and the Coalition of Progressive Political Parties (CoPP) in the state.

In a statement signed by Barrister Ceekay Igara, Chairman and governorship candidate of Labour Party in Abia, the party’s Secretary, Pastor Innocent Onungwa, and made available to newsmen in Umuahia, the Labour Party congratulated the Governor on his landslide victory.

According to the statement which was addressed to Governor Ikpeazu, the Party said, “We hereby convey our sincere congratulations to His Excellency on his resounding victory at the just concluded gubernatorial election.

“We at Labour Party express our profound gratitude to Almighty God for being part of this success no matter the level of (our) contribution and other odds. We equally want you to know that this landslide victory calls for more commitment to delivering democracy dividends to Abians and other Nigerians as they traverse the land of Abia State.

In a related development, and in a letter dated March 15, 2019, members of the Coalition of Progressive Political Parties (CoPP), also congratulated Governor Ikpeazu and urged him to continue to work to change the face of Abia State for the better. According to the statement signed by Hon Joseph Ulu, Secretary-General of CoPP, “Sending you our warmest and heart-felt congratulatory message is our perfect way to honor you and recognize your leadership achievements within the past 3 years”.

“CoPP would like to pledge our loyalty and support to you in the cause of fulfilling the mandate given to you by Abia people. The challenges ahead are enormous, but we believe that together, we shall change the face of Abia State for good.

“We are so pleased to see you accomplish greater projects,” the statement concluded.

  1. For all of you who are congratulating Ikpeazu for being victorious when all of our school building facilities are dilapidated, hunger, unemployment, and premature death will accompany you all and your families in this world and in the world to come, Amen.
