ABACITYBLOG has obtained official photos from the graduation of students who participated in the first batch of Skill Up Abia training.
In chat with ABACITYBLOG, Engineer Clinton Chukwueke, the founder of Clintonel Innovation Centre (CIC) Aba, said Skill Up Abia is a project of (CIC), in a bid to train and empower unemployed young people in Abia State.
According to him, “The students are trained in high-demand emerging markets of Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Renewable (Solar) Energy.
“In addition to the technical training, participants are also trained in entrepreneurship and Soft Skills. At the end of their training, they are supported to secure employment or startup their own businesses,”
Clinton further stated that, “Training for the first batch has been completed and they are now being linked to employment and starting new businesses.”
The newly graduated students are 93 people trained in CAD, CAM and Solar:
At the graduation, 12 startups emerged, 30 new products developed, 24 internship placements, 39 self-employed, etc.

The startups pitched before a seasoned team of judges who selected three winners to join CIC Hardware Business Incubator.
The startups will be supported to start and grow successful businesses. The second batch of #SkillUpAbia students has commenced training.
