Former President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, visited the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu over an attack on his Abuja home.
Recall that some hoodlums suspected to be assassins stormed the home of the lawmaker on Tuesday, Mohammed Yusuf, a member of the gang said “he didn’t know that the house they went to belonged to “a big man”.
He also said they did not find any security personnel on duty at the time they got to the house. Reacting over the incident, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the act as a threat to the life of the lawmaker, but the Police Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, insisted that police investigation carried out so far did not reveal any assassination attempt on Ekweremadu’s life.
Sharing the pictures of the former president who visited his home in Abuja, Ekweremadu revealed that he have received so much love and solidarity from Nigeria and all parts of the world since the incident.
He said; “It was an honour for me and my wife to receive His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR and my friends, who came to strengthen us over the recent attack on our household. My appreciation and respect, sir.
Meanwhile, I have received so much love and solidarity from Nigeria and all parts of the world since the event of the early hours of Tuesday. Let me, therefore, seize this opportunity to convey my profound appreciation you – friends, my colleagues, associates, dear country men and women – for the outpour of solidarity and prayers. I am humbled and overwhelmed by your kindness.
