President Muhammadu buhari with the Benue state governor , Samuel Ortom

The Administration led by Muhammadu Buhari had disregarded Newsmen from covering His visit to Benue State on Monday.

According to the information received, it was learnt that major press from different medias were not allowed in during this visitation event.

Punch, Vanguard, This-day, New telegram, The Nation news and other numerous media correspondents were not allowed to cover the visitation.

When asked by the newsmen the reason for this order, they were told that they were not among the list of people allowed to cover the visit.

Checks found it that it was a directive from the presidency to ristrict the number of news agencies reduced to only seven.

The number of some of the News agencies allowed in included: The News Agency of Nigeria, Daily Sun, Voice of Nigeria, Daily Trust, Leadership, The Guardian and Daily Independent.

Apart from journalists, invited stakeholders were turned back at the third gate of the Government House where security, mainly operatives of the Department of State Services, checked the names of guests against a list they clutched jealously.

Report had it that no reason was given as concerning the above directive.
