Let me start by quoting The late Chinua Achebe in the The TROUBLE With NIGERIA, “The trouble with Nigeria is simply and squarely a failure of leadership.

There is nothing basically wrong with Nigerian land or climate or water or air or anything else. The Nigeria problem is the unwillingness or inability of its leaders to rise to the responsibility, to the challenges of personal examples which are the hallmark of true leadership”.

We simply have to accept our backwardness and failure in leadership. it is still surprisingly to me, why the youths are still silence watching these thieves called leaders rob us of our future and that of our children.

I challenge the governors of the five eastern states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo State to develop a proper and cohesive developmental, economic and infrastructural roadmap for our people.

We cannot continue to blame the government at the centre for our problems, afterall, charity begins at home.

We (Igbos) don’t have a developmental, economic, infrastructural or political roadmaps. Our leaders have to come up with one and starts urgent implementation of it.

Finally, the youths must wake-up and rightly take what belongs to them in our dear nation; Jobs, good roads, potable water, good and qualitative education, the right to vote and to be voted for etc.

The Nigeria of our dream should shun tribalism, cultism, drug and child trafficking, armed robbery, kidnapping, and other negative vices which are detrimental to the image of our great nation.

I believe in the Nigeria of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Sir, Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu and Dr. Alex Ekwueme etc.

God bless you all and have a blissful weekend.

Chief Dr. Emeka Charles Kalu (ECK)
Former APGA Gubernatorial Aspirant in Abia State.
