The Movement of Biafrans In Nigeria (MOBIN) have reacted to a news headline in Vanguard News website yesterday, which claimed that MOBIN has thrown its weight behind Chief Osita Chidoka, the guber candidate of the United Progressive Party, UPP, in Anambra State describing the news headline as media terrorism aimed at destroying the image of MOBIN
MOBIN in a press statement signed by her Director of Media and Mobilization, ThankGod Ofoelue frowned at the deceptive headline which meant that MOBIN have reneged on its withdrawal of support for the party which is tantamount to betraying Biafrans.
MOBIN maintains that it cannot work with the UPP and her National Leadership, since the party does not in any way represent the yearnings of Biafrans.
MOBIN also described as unfortunate, the emergence of Chidoka under the party through a notorious process ever witnessed by mankind.
The statement read in parts; “Vanguard Newspapers yesterday threw into public space a story claiming that MOBIN has reneged its stance against the UPP by supporting Chief Osita Chidoka. That is not true. We issued a statement where we stated that MOBIN would have supported any candidate that emerged had the process been free and fair.
“MOBIN has made her position known to the public and that position is the will of Biafrans. The UPP manipulated the delegates list used for the primaries and tried intimidating MOBIN to accept the charade that led to the death of one of us.
At that primaries, no MOBIN delegate was allowed to vote. This was against our agreement with the party. It was so bad that the Coordinator of MOBIN in Anambra state was also disenfranchised by the UPP.
UPP will kill more Biafrans if we work with them”, the statement read.
MOBIN therefore calls on Biafrans and her members to disregard the reckless headline from Vanguard newspaper as the Leadership of MOBIN will never go against the collective decision of Biafrans.
