The Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, says that the State is set to establish three industrial clusters in the State that will employ many graduates.
The Governor stated this while speaking during the 25th convocation of ABSU. He charged graduands to become vendors of hope for the society by imbibing the virtues they were taught in the university.
According to the Governor, it is wrong for anyone to talk ill against his school, alma mater or State but contribute to better Nigeria.
In his speech, the Honorable Chancellor of the school appreciated the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for showing a great deal of interest to make ABSU one of the best State owned universities. He also used the opportunity to call on all to come to the aid of the school.
Also speaking, the Pro-Chancellor & Chairman, Governing Council, ABSU, Senator Adolph Wabara, thanked the Governor for offering himself as lecturer to contribute to the academic moulding of the students.
The event which featured commissioning of electrification project that links the school to the national grid and foundation-laying ceremony of ASUU Secretariat with the Governor, also witnessed the graduation of 4,447 candidates and conferring of honorary Doctorate degrees to some deserving individuals.
