APC wants Immediate resignation of Abia Speaker over Shooting of FRSC Officers

The publicity secretary of All Progressive Congress, (APC) Abia State chapter, Comrade Ben Godson, over the weekend at a press briefing, called for the immediate resignation of Abia State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Chikwendu Kanu if actually he ordered his Security aides to shoot at FRSC officers on duty as alleged.

The APC spokespersons also chided the security aides for shooting at FRSC officers and drew their attention to the fact that the Speaker does not even have the capacity to order for shooting, he then wondered why they should have obeyed the speaker if actually the speaker ordered the shooting.

Addressing the press on the issue of the non-elective APC convention which is expected to hold soon, the PRO explained that the essence of the convention was to fill up spaces in the leadership of the party at all level, he went further to describe as successful the process of electing 3 delegates par local government area from Abia state who will grace the non-elective convention billed to hold soon.

Abia Facts reports that the Publicity Secretary did not waste time in taking a swipe at Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s led leadership in Abia State, he insisted that the project sites in Abia State are gradually becoming death traps as so many of them have been abandoned.

He appreciated the kind of contractors engaged by the state, but wondered why at most sites today in Abia state nothing is happening. He appealed to the government to speed up with the projects and prayed those projects are not elephant projects.

On the issue of not being a vibrant opposition in the state, the spokesperson of APC Abia state disagreed with that assertion, he insisted that APC Abia state is the only vibrant opposition in the state. He want on to say that it was the activities of APC that made the government to quickly reinstate the transferred and demoted teacher from Ohafia, he insisted that the party is doing its best and will do more.

Comrade Ben also advised the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu led government to immediately utilize the Paris Club second tranche in paying workers because workers are suffering. He notified the general public that the said fund was for payment of workers as governors agreed with the federal government and that delay is bad.

APC spokesperson finally stated that the party will take over power from 2019 because the prominent people entering the party are those that decide what happens in the state.
