Tension is brewing up at Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, following a report that the school rector is about to sack non-indigene academic staff workers.
This comes barely two weeks after a report revealed that the the Vice Councilor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, Professor Francis Otunta, has set up plans to sack about 400 non academic Staff WORKERS in the institution, ranging from 2015 till date.
However, a yet to be confirmed report obtained by Abacityblog, said the school Acting rector, Prof. Ezionye Eboh will soon sack people who brought accreditation to the institution, and have been working for over 3 years without pay just because they are not from Ngwa clan.
The report further stated that if the sack eventually happen, the institution will boil as the affected people will agitate over none payment of their salaries.
“Abia state polytechnic Aba will soon boil because of the plan of the rector to sack people who brought accreditation to the institution and have been working for over 3 years without pay just because they are not from Ngwa.
Tagged the plan sack as an act of nepotism, the source who sent us the information alleged that about 400 Ngwa Indigenes have been employed within the short period of since Prof. Eboh emerged acting rector of the school.
“About 400 Ngwa Indigenes were employed and these people (non-indigenes) were neglected. Even when they asked for their pay, they were threatened, the source said.

It will be recalled that Professor Ezionye Eboh, was appointed the Acting Rector Abia State Polytechnic, Aba by the Governor Ikpeazu led government on February, 2017.
Professor Eboh was until his appointment the Dean, Student Affairs, Abia State University Uturu.
