Fulani Herdsmen Attacks Ukwa East In Abia
Not less than four Suspected Fulani herdsmen, yesterday, Tuesday 25th, April 2017 attacked Okotoko-Ohanku, a community on the outskirt of Ikwuorie Ward in Ukwa east local Government Area of Abia State.
The attack which started as a result of clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the community degenerated into a full blown clash as the youth of the community fights back.
In a statement by Mr. Mezie Ukwa – a media Aide to Hon Lewis Obianyi – Chairman Ukwa East LGA, revealed that about hundreds of cattle were led into Okotoko-Ohanku Community farmland by herdsmen and when the farmers confronted them and asked them to leave the community, They ignored them and invaded their farms.

It was further gathered that the herdsmen vowed that instead of being expelled from the community they will conquer us and occupy the community.

Irked by the response, a reprisal attack and rapid Intervention by the youths of the community saw four Fulani Herdsmen all with the deadly and dangerous Ammunition known as AK-47.
Although, no death was recorded – But the youths were able to confront and sent them out of the community.
