Abia Poly: Governor Ikpeazu appoints Prof Ebo As Acting Rector


The Abia state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has appointed Professor Ezionye Eboh, the Acting Rector Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.

Professor Eboh was until his appointment the, Dean Student Affairs, Abia State University.

Recall that Ikpeazu had earlier last week directed the Rector and Registrar of the school to proceed on a six month compulsory leave, with immediate effect.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Eme Okoro, the Governor further directed that Prof Ezionye Ebo and Chief C A Nwabughogu should take over as Acting Rector and Registrar of the institution respectively.

The Governor also directed the immediate redeployment of all medical staff including all the medical doctors working at the Polytechnic to the Abia State University Teaching Hospital Aba.

Meanwhile, following the ongoing strike, the National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS) has issued the management of Abia State Polytechnic and the state government 14 days ultimatum to call off the strike.

The ultimatum was given last week and it expected to elapse soon.
