Abia Poly Strike: Pay Our Salaries or No Lectures – Staff tells Management


Abia State Polytechnic Strike which commenced on the 19th Dec. 2016 has been described as a sting that tends to cause frustration to the students and staffs Alike.

According to latest release from different online news and publications, some of the staffs who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the current state of affairs within the circle is undisclosed.

A lecturer further lamented how the state has turned their back on the cries and lamentations of the workers.

He said, Since nobody is talking and not even the students union then No more school until our salaries are paid. All the students should just GO and SLEEP till the right thing is done.

We can not afford to sacrifice our sleep and energy to NOTHING. He furiously concluded.

Contrary to that, some students we interviewed online has disclosed their displeasure over the lingering strike which tends to bring any hope of resolving yet.

One Chisom Ihekere said she is now tired of sleeping without waking up to do anything. She pleaded with the Government to as a matter of urgency pay our hard working lecturers.

In Uchendu’s voice, it is high time the student union government show their presence as this is now getting out of hand. He said all is not well and nobody should pretend as if it is working.

Meanwhile, Governor Ikpeazu led Abia State government has sacked the Staff and Management of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba as they were being urged by the State Labour Union.
