Ikpeazu to Senate: Good roads and electricity will drive trade & Commerce in Abia State


The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has asked the Senate to make serious recommendations to the ministry of works and the Presidency so as to tackle deplorable federal roads in Abia State.

“Abia State as a centre for trade and commerce, has access links to more than five States, Roads to these states are in sorry conditions. It will bring joy to Abians if the Federal government can fix these roads for business survival in the State”

The Governor Said these when Members of Senate Committee on Works, led by Senator Kabiru Kaya, including Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator T.A Orji, Senator Ben Bruce, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Senator Bukar Abba among others, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu at Government House Umuahia.

The Senate committee is in Abia State in furtherance of their oversight duties.

They are expected to visit and inspect the deplorable condition of federal roads in Abia State with a view to making appropriate recommendations to the Federal Ministry of Works and the Presidency.

” We are going to tour the roads today, and some of the roads on our lists are Aba-Ikotekpene , Arochukwu /Ohafia road, Aba /Azumiri road, Umuahia-Ikotekpene among others” Senator Kabiru said.
