Former British Prime Minister, Cameron resigns from Parliament

Former British Prime Minister, David Cameron has resigned from the UK parliament.
His resignation is coming barely two months after he resigned as the country’s Prime Minister as a result of the vote for Britain to exit Europe (Brexit) in July.

Cameron announced that he will back down as a member of parliament for his constituency of Witney immediately.

“In my view, with modern politics, with the circumstances of my resignation, it isn’t really possible to be a proper backbench MP as a former prime minister,” Cameron told newsmen on Monday.

“I think everything you do will become a big distraction and a big diversion from what the government needs to do for our country,” he added.
