Enyimba have suspended one of their backroom staff, Ifeanyi Kalu, indefintiely for attacking a match official, during a Match Day 35 fixture against Niger Tornadoes in Lokoja.
Kalu, who acts as the first-team masseur, was also fined a month’s wages.
“Enyimba Football Club disassociates itself from his actions and condemns the behavior in the strongest terms possible,” the club announced in a statement.

“Ours is a club built on discipline and respect for the opposition, the match officials and for the rules of the game and a such we have zero tolerance for anything in the contrary.
“Our uttermost stance is that our players and officials maintain a cool head regardless of provocation or other circumstances”.
“Mr Kalu has apologized for his actions but he must face the consequences of his actions and hence will be fined a month’s wages and suspension from the Enyimba technical area.”
The People’s Elephant lost the game against Tornadoes 1-0.
