Thursday, Abacitybog reports.
Nigeria Senior football team, Super Eagles, rose three places in the latest FIFA rankings to be at the 67th position.
The Super Eagles were last July rated 70th globally and 17th on the continent. However, in August ranking, Nigeria moved a place in Africa to 16th behind Algeria, Ghana, CIV, Senegal, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Cameroon, Congo DR, Cape Verde, Mali, Congo, South Africa, Uganda, Guinea respectively.
There were no changes at the rankings summit, with the top 20 retaining their July position.
The devaluation of older games has also been a factor, benefiting Costa Rica (21, up 6), Japan (49, up 8), Korea DPR (99, up 18) and Mauritania (104, up 15).The same process has not smiled on Cuba, though, who dropped 30 places to 151st position.
Argentina still maintain number one position in the world and are followed by Belgium, Colombia, Germany, Chile, Portugal, France, Spain, Brazil and Italy.
