Don’t despair, Dickson tells Bayelsa people


The  Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Henry Dickson has urged the citizens of the state not to despair, assuring them that despite the dwindling financial resources, his administration will continue to fulfill its obligation.

Dickson gave his assurance in his opening remarks at the 62nd Bayelsa State Executive Council Meeting in Yenagoa the State capital. A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso Markson, said on Friday.

The governor said his government will continue to do its best to deliver on its mandate of providing quality infrastructure, social amenities and welfare to the citizenry.

He commended the members of the state civil service and the entire people of the state for their support and understanding in spite of the difficult times.

“I want to express my gratitude to Bayelsans for their support, understanding and prayers offered for the peace and development of the state. The government will continue to meet its obligation to the people.

“Particularly, I want to also thank the state public service for their support and understanding to bear with us in our trying moments. Though the economic downturn experienced in the state is due to the dwindling national economy, the government is working very hard to turn things around by diversifying the economy.”

He also commended the members of the executive council for their dedication to service, continued loyalty and love, including their prayers for the administration.
